Who We Are

We are a group of active, motivated Moms who care about the environment in which our kids live.  We want to live in New York City with our families and are fighting for safe, healthy spaces in which our kids can play, learn, experience nature, and have fun.  Join our plea on Tuesday, October 7th at 4:30 p.m. when we will rally in Central Park and ask for a Car-Free Central Park.

I love the idea of continuing to press the city to get cars out of Central and Prospect Park. I have supported Transportation Alternatives on this for years (and my daughter has joined the cause) and am so glad to see your support for the issue.
Can I make a request that you acknowledge how many fathers are actively raising their kids now (and that same sex families of fathers are on the rise in NYC) and somehow include them in the name so they’ll be more likely to join the cause with their kids and families?

Thanks so much for your support of this important issue. And, it’s great that your daughter is also motivated by the cause. You should be proud! Regarding your question about including fathers in the name…we agree that many fathers are actively raising their kids now and have a much larger role in their kids’ lives than in past generations. We don’t mean to alienate anyone with the name. As the rally flyer says, “Bring your kids, partners, friends, families…” We have many Dads who are enthusiastic supporters and will be joining the rally.
